Big Brother Nigeria debuted in 2006 with the winner of the ultimate price being Katung Aduwak.

Eleven years down the line, Big Brother Nigeria has resurfaced with a new name, Big Brother Naija and 12 fiery contestants competing for the big win with one of the contestants of the first series as the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

Stargist.com has decided to take you down memory lane as we present 5 of the 2006 Big Brother Nigeria contestants that were quite popular in the house.

1 Katung Aduwak

Katung Aduwak

Kaduna State born Katung Aduwak was the winner of the first edition of Big Brother Nigeria and  he went away with the cash price of 100,000 dollars.

His win was surprising since he came into the house after the second eviction and won about 80 percent of the tasks. He and his co-housemate, Sandy, were kept in isolation with no external contact and zero access to TV or news for three weeks before being introduced to the show.

Katung proceeded to New York to get a directorial degree from the Digital Film Academy, after which he returned to Nigeria and worked on several projects. He produced and directed the movies Unwanted Guest and Heaven’s Hell.

He is currently the Senior Channels Manager MTV Base and Senior Creative Director VIACOM Networks.

2 Ebuka Obi-UchenduEbuka-Obi-Uchendu-620x350

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the current host for 2017 Big Brother Naija has been the most prominent on the entertainment scene since the first edition in 2006 is a Nigerian lawyer and media personality from Okija in Anambra State, Nigeria. He is one of the co-hosts of EbonylifeTv show, ‘The Spot’ and ‘Rubbing Minds’ on Channels TV.

He has won several awards and  has been honored by the Federal Government among Top 100 Young Nigerians to mark Nigeria’s centenary celebration in 2014.

3 Gideon Okeke
Gideon Okeke

Born on July 23rd to Mr and Mrs. Okeke from Abagana, Anambra State and is the only child of his parents, Gideon  is mostly known for his great talent in popular African MNET drama Tinsel where he plays the role of Philip Ade-Williams. He has also featured in a number of movies such as 93 days, A Place in the Stars and When Love Happens.

4 Ify Ejikeme

Ify Ejikeme is an entrepreneur who came third in the first edition of Big Brother Nigeria.

5 Francisca Owumi

Cisca

The first runner-up of the first edition, Francisca is from Delta state and is currently a presenter at Fashionista TV. Owumi attended Our Lady Of Apostles Secondary School, Lagos. She ventured into singing after Big Brother Nigeria and released two singles Gbadu you and Diva under her own record label Cisca Entertainment.
