Olatorera Oniru is a young entrepreneur passionate about all things Africa.

As CEO of Dressmeoutlet.com, she is currently leading initiatives to realize a pinnacle in Africa’s history whereby we would rely less on importation and innovate more with natural resources and citizenry capabilities.

A member of The National Scholars Honor Society USA, Olatorera flourished her career working for two Fortune Top 5 companies namely Bank of America Merrill Lynch and General Electric. She also worked for one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, Lars Magnus Ericsson, as a global consultant and later as Head of Sales Governance.

During the course of her employed years, she traveled to over 50 cities in over 10 countries in 4 continents.

She founded DressMeOutlet from her personal savings and has a personal runway to successfully finance the business for up to the next 5 years.

Here’s how this ambitious young woman rose to be the CEO of Dressmeoutlet.

Early Life

Olatorera Oniru was born March 3, 1987 to Chief Dr. Femi Majekodunmi and Justice Olatokunbo Majekodunmi in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Olatorera grew up partly in Nigeria and the United States of America. She attended Mary Hill Primary School, Oyo and had her secondary education at Queen’s College, Lagos. By August 2000, she had moved to the United States, and attended Leesville High North Carolina where she received awards for Perfect Attendance and Honors English.

In 2008, she graduated Cum Laude Honors with a degree in Business Administration/ Management and Entrepreneurship from NC A&T State University.

Olatorera has a scholarship-based Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Emory University, United States where she focused on Finance, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship. She also has Executive Management Certificates from Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden and International Institute for Management Development, Switzerland.

How She Started DressMeOutlet

 

Prior to her establishment of the website, Olatorera started her career in 2005 as a management Intern in Clayton, GA for Sodexho’s summer camp. She left to work as a Sales Associate for Payless ShoeSource, Greensboro North Carolina.

Olatorera continued her career working for two Fortune Top 500 companies, namely Bank of America and General Electric. She joined the Bank of America Merrill Lynch where she worked for two years as a Senior Analyst for the Global Markets and Investment Banking Business Development Group.

During her years as an employee at Merrill Lynch, she also served as co-founder and president of Network of African Professionals in New York City and as a Junior Board Member of CASA-NY (Court Appointed Special Advocates New York).[

After two years at Merrill Lynch, she went to work for the Central Bank of Nigeria as a Senior Supervisor.

After the completion of her (MBA), she went to work for Lars Magnus Ericsson, as a Global Consultant and later as Head of Sales Governance for MTN Nigeriaaccount.

In 2015, Olatorera established a website selling fashion products, health & beauty products, and home goods. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Sales at Dressmeoutlet.com.

Olatorera Oniru is married to Adedapo Oniru, with whom she has two children
