“You Don’t Always Have To Pray For A Good Man” – Powede Lawrence

Ex beauty queen and trained pilot, Powede Lawrence, on March, 16, 2017 admonished young ladies who only pray for a good job and a husband to stop being selfish.

She wrote on her Instagram page; ‘

 I noticed for a lot of young girls, we spend so much time wasting our youth, doing things that will take us no where closer to God, the only prayer point we take seriously is: “Give me a good job”
“God I want to make plenty of money”
The ultimate one being:
“God I want a good husband”
“Oh Lord God give me a good man” all some of us focus on praying fervently about is Husband! Husband! Husband!
Not that these things aren’t important. However, you know what is more important?
Living a purposeful life and making heaven at the end.
Won’t it be better if we start having prayer points like:
“Lord teach me better ways to serve you”
“Lord give me the grace to use my gifts effectively”
“Lord help me make heaven”
“Lord start an unquenchable thirst for your word within me”
It’s good to pray about marriage, very good, as your choice of a spouse can either bring you closer to God or take you farther away from Him. But don’t you think we are beginning to worship this concept?
You waiting (waiting because you’re not looking, he’s looking for you) for a spouse shouldn’t be your motivation to serve God, you shouldn’t want to be married more than you want Christ.A desire for a relationship shouldn’t supersede your desire to make heaven.
God didn’t bring you to this world so that you can get married alone, there are other things He brought you here for such as using your gifts to win more souls for Him and a whole lot more. Do you think your destiny is tied to yourself alone?
There are people who your life is supposed to impact positively and aid them in achieving their own destinies so just imagine if your not living it to the fullness of its purpose.
YOUR LIFE IS TOO SMALL FOR THAT TO BE THE ONLY REASON TO BE ALIVE ON EARTH, YOURE HERE TO INFLUENCE LIVES, DONT LIVE SELFISHLY.
