Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) is an annual accolade presented by Multichoice recognizing outstanding achievement in television and film, voted on by the general public.

This year’s AMVCA  has been scheduled to hold in Lagos on March, 4, 2017 and it also marks the fifth consecutive year of the awards.

1 Adesua Etomi

Talented Nollywood actress, Adesua Etomi who is widely known for her role as ‘Dunni Coker’ in the record breaking movie, ‘The Wedding Party’ .

She won the Best actress in a drama award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in Falling’ and has again been nominated as Best Actress In A Drama for the character she played in ‘The Arbitration’.

2 Somkele Iyama-Idhalama

 

She is known for her roles in Dreamwalker (2012), 93 Days (2016), The Wedding Party (2016), The Arbitration (2016), the TV series Gidi Up (2013–present) and gained recognition at the Toronto International Film Festival as well as the African International Film Festival.

She has been nominated under the category of Best Supporting actress for her role in ’93 Days’

3 Ivie Okujaiye

Ivie Okujaiye is a Nigerian born actress who participated and won the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality TV show in 2009. She is sometimes called little Genevieve because she resembles actress Genevieve Nnaji.

She won the AMVCA Trailblazer  award in 2016 and she has been nominated for Best Actress In A Drama for her role in ‘Slow Country’.

 

4 Meg Otanwa

Meg Otanwa is from Benue State and dazzled the audience with her performance as ‘Vera’ in Emem Isong’s ‘I”ll Take My Chances’ has been nominated under the category of Best Actress In A Drama for the character she played in ‘Derailed’.

5 Adunni Ade

Adunni Ade is Yoruba, born to a Nigerian father and an American mother is the lady behind Date Gone Bad, a comedy skit that went viral online.

Adunni has been nominated as Best Supporting actress in a movie for her role in ‘It’s Her Day’
