Somkele Iyamah-Idhalama, an actress that came into prominence as a supporting actress on NdaniTV’s hit web series Gidi Up, received the Trailblazer Award alongside a brand new SUV at the just concluded African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) in a show-stopping purple gown with high slit.
The award which usually goes to a young person, who despite being a youth, has made an impact in the movie industry was co-presented by last year’s Trailblazer Award winner, Kemi Lala Akindoju.
Receiving the award, the fashion icon who has starred in top movies like The Arbitration, 93 Days and record-breaking, Wedding Party expressed shock and dedicated her award to her parents, husband, son, siblings, fellow actors and her former boss, Mr Jim Ovie who let her go on a movie audition without hassle.
