Veteran and Grammy Award-nominated icon, Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye widely known as King Sunny Ade, has officially become the first Nigerian musician to donate pieces from his personal reserve to Hard Rock’s world-famous memorabilia collection.
On Wednesday, November 30, 2016, the Juju maestro donated a vintage Fender Guitar and other personal items including an album cover and a pair of shoes at Hard Rock Cafe Lagos.
Don Jazzy, Iyanya, Tiwa Savage, Di’Ja, Korede Bello, Peter PSquare, Bovi, Kunle Afolayan, Olisa, Terry Apala, Chris Ubosi and many others graced the occasion.
Speaking at the event, King Sunny Ade revealed that he bought his vintage guitar 30 years ago when he wanted to record his album. He further said he spoke to the guitar, telling it to be good to him and make him a good record so that the world would appreciate it.
Other greats who are on the Hard Rock showcase include, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Brian Wilson and Elton John among others.
