Veteran actress, Kate Henshaw has revealed that she and NGO Project Alert will be returning the N8 million that was raised for Baby Michael back to donors.
Recall that, the fitness guru became actively involved in the life of Baby Micheal Alvez, a 2-year-old boy with a cancerous growth on his face, after she was tagged on social media.
Later, Kate and Baby Michael’s family began to disagree over the management of the funds raised, forcing the actress to regret her involvement in the case.
According to Punch; ‘
“Kate has revealed the baby is now in the care of his family and the government, and that the family has asked her and Project Alert to withdraw.
Read the statement released by the NGO below.
“As An Organisation, Project Alert Believes In Transparency And Accountability. In The Last One Year, We Raised A Total Sum Of N9.8m To Help Michael, And Spent N1.8m. The Account Has Been Duly Audited By An Audit Firm– Bamisile And Co. Since The Family Has Asked Us To Withdraw, We Believe It Is Right That We Inform The Public And Refund The Money To Those Who Donated It.”
