This festive season is the perfect time to start your year bright, sophisticated and stylish and what better way to do this than donning on your bright and colorful outfits and patterns. Get ready to break out all things bright and colorful from your closet and leave the dull and neutral pieces for work.

If you missed wearing fun prints and playful color combinations or you need ideas on how to pull off bright and bold print patterns? Then this post could be of help to you:

1. Go all out – it doesn’t matter if you’ve done it before, when it comes to wearing bright colors and bold prints this festive period, going full on and all out is the way to go. Don’t worry about going a little over the top, it’s all part of the season's fun! One important thing you need to do is style your outfit with confidence and really own your look.

2. Pick prints that are in season – paisley, Damask and Rainbow stripes are pretty and all but they’re not exactly the fun kind you’d see all over the streets this season. Big florals, plaids, bold stripes, art and geometric prints for example, are always perfect for outings this festive season.

3. Pick a theme – another really cool way to wear bold prints this season is to pick a theme to go with and create your outfit around that. Feeling girly? How about sporting some graphic florals in girly colors? If you’re feeling like wearing something edgy, you can always go for plaid or gingham patterns, too.

4. Create a cohesive look – wearing prints with the matching shade on your top or bottom will create a more cohesive look. Like I did here, I wore a blue chambray shirt with my retro geometric prints skirt that also has shades of blue on it. Or, think of adding some flair to your plain LBD by wearing a pair of leopard print pumps paired with red scarf or bag that still coordinates with your color scheme.

5. Reduce the color effect – if you feel like adding colors and prints to a complete look is a little too much for you to handle, you can always create a tamer look by anchoring down your bold prints with neutral colors or faint patterns.
