We say things all the time, make promises we do not intend to keep, assure people when we do not have the hope of fulfilling them, and why is that if I may ask, why is it so difficult to do all this?
I may be called old school, but I really cannot look pass it. How is it so difficult to keep a promise, did you really even try? All this are what comes to my mind, and that is the reason there are disappointments everywhere, some that are really unnecessarily if only one tried.
I grew up in a home where 'your word' is you, one of your identity as a human being, where after giving it and due to uncontrollable circumstances you can't keep it or you know somehow you might not be able to fulfil it, you apologise immediately, take responsibility for it and not shy away or let the person know on time you might not be able to keep it.
Be a man or woman of your word, let there be an assurance and certainty when people talk about you doing something, learn to apologise when things don't go as expected, no one will kill you for not doing it, in as much as you truly tried to, instead of people being surprised when you do something.
Let your Yes be Yes, let your No be No, let your word hold ground, let it carry weight when spoken, let it speak for you, let it speak about you even when you are gone, let it be who you are, let it be your identity, let whoever you give it to trust in it, believe in it, there is a whole lot more your word or promises can do, but I will end here✌
